I have always been awed by the beauty found in nature.
Through watercolor, I’ve been able to capture – in my own way, the simplicity of objects at the exact moment when the light on them is just right – when the object almost glows – and to render it using the many layers of pigment glazes needed to reach this point.
I have worked in several media, but watercolor is my soul mate. It works with me to best represent what I want an observer to see. It allows me to capture a bit of nature – whether in flowers or fruit – at the exact moment in time that inspired me to paint it – the moment when I knew I wanted to see its image recorded permanently on paper.
Painting is when I’m at my happiest - sharing this joy with those who see my work and hoping it brings them some of this same joy is equally as rewarding.
